“It’s a super exciting opportunity to showcase Vermont farms and food to a global audience,” said conference organizer, UVM’s Lisa Chase. “Many of the people coming to Vermont had never even heard of Vermont.”
The nationwide survey snapshotted farm tourism right before the pandemic. The most common form of agritourism boomed last year, even though tours and tastings suffered.
Local farms are pivoting to serve their communities in a time of need.
The pathway in the Champlain Valley will serve as a link with similar trails in New York, Ontario and Quebec as officials work toward uniting them.
