Anthony 'Tony' Parra, a life well-lived

Anthony "Tony" Parra, died in Grantham, NH on March 7. He was 88. The son of Italian immigrants, he was born a first-generation American in Brooklyn. As life unfolded, he worked his way from his parents' neighborhood chicken market, to a career in finance spanning four decades in the marble halls of Manhattan. His first job as a boy was to monitor the temperature of the ice at Rockefeller Center. A graduate of Manhattan College and Syracuse University, he was drafted into the Korean War. He worked hard and believed in the American Dream, which took him far. He was fluent in Italian and German, and loved everything Italian (especially opera and food!). Minutes before he died, he enjoyed a piece of Lake Champlain Chocolate. We will always remember his love for life, games, books, and travel, his generosity and how much he looked forward to our visits, his love for the best, and pursuit of a life well-lived.
