Armand F. Poney Jr., served his country and fellow vets

Armand F. Poney, Jr., age 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born August 30, 1939 to Alice George and Armand F. Poney Sr. in Burlington, Vermont.

After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and later the United States Army, serving his country during the Vietnam conflict. He retired from the Army in 1998 and went back to work for the state of Texas assisting veterans with finding employment.

He was a lifetime Boston Redsox fan and was dearly devoted to his shih tzu Noel. He was also involved with the Knights of Columbus through Holy Spirit Catholic Church and St. Helena's during his retirement.

Family Information

He is preceded in death by his parents. Armand is survived by his wife of 30 years Patricia L. Poney; sons, Armand Lundie, Mark Lundie, and stepson Gary Widener and wife Kathy; granddaughters Hanna Hancock and Kendra Lundie; brother Phillip Poney and wife Martha and their daughters Faith and Rose; half-sister Jean St. John; as well as numerous other family members and a lifetime of friends.
