Stacey Vaillancourt pleaded not guilty in March 2019 to charges of manslaughter and child cruelty in the death of 6-month-old Harper Rose Briar. Jury selection in the case is set for next month, with a trial to follow.
The governor decided to keep deputy prosecutors in the top jobs until new state’s attorneys are elected in November. Both deputies filling in during the interim are running to be their counties’ next state’s attorneys.
Rose Kennedy, Rutland County’s top prosecutor since 2015, said she decided to leave the job after evaluating what makes her happy.
Kyle Wolfe, 34, appeared Thursday in court in Rutland to face a charge alleging he violated a no-stalking order. He was released on conditions, including that he not leave his apartment, pending an arraignment Monday.
