Vermont’s Democratic candidates for attorney general are set to take the virtual stage on Wednesday, July 13, at 6 p.m. in the final VTDigger debate ahead of the Aug. 9 primary. Click here to register for the livestream.
The debate will include Charity Clark, former assistant attorney general and chief of staff of the attorney general’s office, and Washington County State's Attorney Rory Thibault. VTDigger is not holding Republican or Progressive debates for attorney general because only one candidate from each of those parties will appear on primary election ballots.
The debate will be moderated by VTDigger criminal justice reporter Alan J. Keays and political reporter Sarah Mearhoff. It is sponsored by the Necrason Group.
This event is part of the 2022 Digger Debate Series, which kicked off in April. Following Vermont’s Aug. 9 primary, VTDigger will launch a series of general election debates this fall. Those will include a Sept. 8 U.S. Senate debate at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester and a Sept. 15 U.S. House debate at the Barre Opera House. Stay tuned for more debate announcements by subscribing to VTDigger’s daily newsletter.
