VTDigger has hosted five debates ahead of Vermont’s Aug. 9 primary election as part of the 2022 Digger Debate Series. The news organization plans to hold additional general election debates in September and October.

July 2022 attorney general primary debate
On July 13, 2022, VTDigger hosted a debate between the two Democratic candidates for Vermont attorney general, Charity Clark and Rory Thibault.
June 2022 US House primary debate
On June 28, 2022, VTDigger hosted a debate among the four Democratic candidates for Vermont's U.S. House seat — Senate President Pro Tempore Becca Balint, D-Vt.; Sianay Chase Clifford; Lt. Gov. Molly Gray and Dr. Louis Meyers — followed by another between the three Republican candidates, Liam Madden, Ericka Redic and Anya Tynio. Video courtesy Town Meeting TV.
June 2022 lieutenant gubernatorial primary debate
On June 15, 2022, at the Paramount Theatre in Rutland, VTDigger hosted a debate among the four Democratic lieutenant governor candidates — former Rep. Kitty Toll, D-Danville; former Lt. Gov. David Zuckerman, of Hinesburg; Rep. Charlie Kimbell, D-Woodstock; and executive director of the Vermont Council on World Affairs Patricia Preston, of Burlington — followed by another between the two Republican candidates, Sen. On June 8, 2022, VTDigger hosted a debate among the three Democratic candidates for secretary of state: Rep. Sarah Copeland Hanzas, D-Bradford, Deputy Secretary of State Chris Winters and Montpelier City Clerk John Odum.
April 2022 US House Democratic primary debate
On April 14, 2022, VTDigger hosted a debate between the four Democratic candidates for Vermont's lone U.S. House seat: Sen. Becca Balint, Sianay Chase Clifford, Lt. Gov. Molly Gray and Sen. Kesha Ram Hinsdale.
