On Tuesday, Gov. Peter Shumlin made his first appearance of the day in Burlington at the Ward 3 polls in the Old North End at about 12:15 p.m.
The first-term governor is in a race against Republican state Sen. Randy Brock. In the morning, Shumlin hit the polls in St. Albans, Colchester and Essex with Democratic candidate for treasurer Beth Pearce. The two then drove to Burlington and made appearances in the Old and New North Ends — at Wards 3, 4 and 7— before heading to Barre solo and back to Waterbury with Pearce. Shumlin will finish his day at the Vermont Democratic Party's headquarters this evening in Burlington.
VTDigger reporter Andrew Stein chats with Shumlin about Election Day, the importance of voting and the role of money in Vermont elections.
