VTDigger

VTDigger.org is a statewide news website that publishes daily reports on state government, politics, consumer affairs, business and public policy. We also publish in-depth stories with occasional investigative pieces, video and audio, in addition to raw information in the form of press releases and government documents.

VTDigger.org is a project of The Vermont Journalism Trust, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

Our daily beat reporters cover politics, education, health care, criminal justice, business and the environment. We publish eight news stories a day and three to four investigative pieces a month. VTDigger, with 14 reporters and six editors has the largest news operation in Vermont. We have 700,000 monthly readers and we reach another 200,000 readers a month through our AP-style distribution service, which is used by 13 local daily and weekly newspapers across the state.

VTDigger.org publishes new content six days a week, Sunday through Friday.

The Vermont Journalism Trust

VTDigger is a statewide news organization that publishes in-depth news reports on matters of public interest, and the only daily news organization in Vermont that publishes exclusively online. We reach 700,000 individual readers a month and post daily news stories about state government, politics, consumer affairs, business and public policy.

VTDigger was founded in 2009 and became a project of the Vermont Journalism Trust in March 2011. The Vermont Journalism Trust supports journalism employing a nonprofit model.  VJT's initial project as a fiscal sponsor of such endeavors is VTDigger.org.

The mission of Vermont Journalism Trust is to produce rigorous journalism that explains complex issues, holds the government accountable to the public, and engages Vermonters in the democratic process.
